Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Frei

Frei Stephan Frei (M’97-SM’13) received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from TU Berlin University in 1995.
Between 1995 and 1999 he was a research assistant for EMC at TU Berlin University, Institute of Electrical Power Engineering. There he graduated as Ph.D. in 1999. Between 1999 and 2006 he worked at the automobile manufacturer AUDI AG in the development department. Here he developed and introduced as project manager new methods for the computation of EMC, antennas and signal integrity in vehicles. In 2006 he became a professor for vehicular electronics at TU Dortmund University, where his research interests are EMC, SI, computational methods, and vehicle power supply systems. Dr. Frei is the author of more than 150 papers, and from 2008 to 2009 he served as Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE EMC Society. Since 2014 he is the Dean of the Faculty for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Dortmund.
